I suspect that I put way, way too much prep work into short stories. I’m kinda having too much fun to stop, though.

Everything on this list is not a favorite of mine, many items are debatable as “portal fantasies,” some just plain don’t fit at all except in my mind, writing this story. But these are the eighteen types of common ways to get to another world in fictions I settled on (you should see the categories I tossed) to use in “She’s Not There,” and the stories and movies and games and etc. I read or reread or watched or rewatched or just skimmed and thought about, working on the story.

If this provides any reason why the story’s taken so long to anybody waiting, I’m happy. I can’t say I’m honestly sorry for the wait, though.
